A proposed law in Ohio would require convicted arsonists to register for at least ten years after they were convicted. The idea behind the law is that arson is a difficult crime to get convictions on. Why? Because evidence is destroyed in arson during the fire itself. It is much harder to find fingerprints, fiber, hair or DNA evidence after a fire for that reason.
